Ireland uses 220 volts of electricity to power all of their electrical needs. In the US, we use 110 volts. Therefore if you are taking appliances such as hair curling irons, blow dryers, etc. on our trip you will need to purchase a step-down voltage converter. I have purchased one for mom and I from World Import: http://www.world-import.com/search.php?mode=search&page=1. It is $16.99.
If you are going to take a computer you will need a different step-down converter. You can call World Import at 877 – 220 – 8658 to get the correct converter.
For cell phones and iPads you will need to purchase (from World Import) a wall adapter WMU 5 for .$79. Check with your cell phone carrier to make sure your phone is a dual voltage phone. If not you will need a step-down converter for it.
